Note from the Nurse

Dolores Schools is experiencing an influx of illness over the past week. The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment is noting an earlier and more severe RSV illness this season. This, as well as the prevalence of flu in our community, are of great concern, and are currently affecting our school population.

Please use the following guidelines when evaluating when to keep your child home from school:

  1. If your child has a fever, please keep them home until they are 24 hours fever free without Tylenol and Motrin
  2. If cough or other respiratory illness is present, please keep your child home for 72 hours from symptoms onset to help slow the spread of illness.
  3. Any child with vomiting or diarrhea should be kept home until symptoms have resolved for 24 hours.

Please see resources below if you have any further questions. Please also feel free to contact the school nurse during school hours.
