Hi Elementary and Preschool Parents,
Unfortunately, this morning, The Montezuma County Public Health Department verified that Dolores Elementary and The Teddy Bear Preschool had a person on each campus diagnosed with COVID-19. Contact tracing has been completed, and those deemed to have been in “close contact” have been notified. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused our families.
If you have not received a call, you and your family are not considered at risk from this situation, and no one else needs to be quarantined due to this situation. If you have concerns or questions please reach out to myself, Ms. Valiena, or our school nurse, Jennifer Gaddis, RN.
As part of this public health investigation:
The people diagnosed are being kept home from school until they are no longer infectious.
The individuals who were “close contacts” of the person with COVID-19 are instructed to stay home from school, watch for symptoms, and quarantine for 10 days after the exposure.
Our buildings are being sanitized with special attention to the exposed areas.
Please watch for symptoms in your children daily and remember to adhere to daily symptom checks prior to coming to school. Please call our RN with any questions. This symptom checklist includes the following:
Do you have a fever? You can NOT come to school if you have a temp over 100.
Do you have a cough?
Are you having shortness of breath or difficulty breathing?
Are you experiencing chills?
Are you experiencing muscle aches?
Do you have a sore throat?
Are you experiencing a new loss of taste or smell?
Have you been exposed to someone with COVID or COVID related
As always, please reach out anytime with questions and concerns. We try to answer all emails and return phone calls within 24 hours. If it’s urgent, please call our front offices. Please see the next page for more information about Covid-19. Thank you!
