Little Bears Restart Plan 2020-2021

In Person School Day (Monday-Friday

  • My parent checks me for signs of COVID.
  • If I don’t have symptoms or a fever, I get ready for school.
  • I wear my mask.
  • We load the bus back to front.
  • The bus windows are open. If it’s raining hard, windows aren’t open as wide.
  • We sit one person per seat unless we have siblings in which case I will sit next to my brother and sister.
  • If I eat breakfast at school, when I leave the bus, I line up behind the para for my grade level and follow their instructions.  If I am a kindergartner, I will meet my teacher on the playground.  We will eat breakfast in our classroom.
  • If I do not eat breakfast, I will enter through my designated door, and follow the foot signs that will help me walk on the right of the halls and remind me to social distance from other students.
  • I will wear my mask.
  • I clean my hands with hand sanitizer.
  • I walk to my classroom and get a warm welcome from my teacher.
  • I put my coat and backpack on my hook.
  • If I am a kindergartner, I meet my teacher at the playground by our designated door.
  • If I am a kindergartner and I am supposed to eat breakfast at school, my breakfast will be delivered to my classroom.
  • I sit at my desk that is spaced away from my classmates.
  • My friend and I will keep all of our belongings separate.
  • Older grades and sometimes younger grades will share toys, supplies, or equipment, but our teachers will help us know what to do to make sure these items get sanitized.
  • If I need to use a Chromebook, I will only use the one that is assigned to me.
  • If I need to get up to get materials or go to the bathroom, I follow the routine my teacher set, and I always wear my mask when I leave the classroom.
  • We have extra time in our schedule, now; so we can wash our hands before lunch.
  • We also have more time to go through the cafeteria line, so we can social distance while we’re waiting and don’t have to rush.
  • We will wash or sanitize our hands after lunch, as well as, after recess.
  • Kindergarten will have their lunch delivered to their classroom, and they will eat at their desks. First through fifth grade will eat in the commons on a staggered schedule. We will sit apart but still be able to talk and visit with friends.
  • Our class takes a special route to the playground, so we don’t pass very many other students.
  • We do not need to keep our masks on outside as long as we don’t get too close to each other.
  • We will have our paraprofessionals on duty at lunch and recess to ensure all guidelines are being followed, so we feel safe.
  • Each day we have music, technology, PE or art.  We will wear our masks in the hallway on our way to and from specials and use hand sanitizer when we enter and exit the rooms.
  • Surfaces will be wiped down in between class visits.
  • My teacher makes sure I understand what we need to remember about exiting and entering the building.
  • I make sure I have what I need to do any homework in my backpack.
  • I wipe my desk, supplies and Chromebook, clean my hands, and put on my backpack.
  • I put my mask on before leaving the classroom and follow my teacher or paraprofessional out of the building using the same designated door for our grade level.
  • If I go to the buses, I follow our grade level para to the bus loading area.
  • If I get picked up or walk, I follow my teacher to the pick up area.
  • If I ride the bus, we load the bus back to front,  just like we did in the morning, and sit as far apart as possible. I must sit by myself in one seat unless I share a seat with my brother and sister.
  • If I get picked up, I will stay in line with my teacher in the front of the school until he/she shows me my parent’s car and shows me the way to go as my family stays in the car in the Hug and Go zone.
  • Class sizes are at or below 20 students.
  • Movement is scheduled so that fewer students are in the hallways and at exits/entrances at the same time.
  • Classes are assigned a designated door with their cohorts.
  • Students sit with lots of space at lunch and in classrooms.
  • Students learn and practice safety routines and frequent hand washing.
  • Students have individual spaces and containers for belongings or they have routines for sanitizing what is shared.
  • Our school has signs and markings to help students follow safety procedures.
  • Social-emotional needs are recognized and monitored.
