Hello, my name is Ms Nori Begay and I will be one of your child’s teachers in the Toddler Room along with Miss Alyssa. This will be my tenth year at Teddy Bear Preschool. Two years in the preschool room and my eighth year with the toddlers, total I have 17 years of experience working with toddlers/preschool. I am THRILLED to be your child’s teacher! It’s going to be a fun filled year with lots of learning, play and new adventures. I can’t wait to see what this year has in store for us all. I want to know ALL about you, but first I’m going to tell you a few things about me. I was born and raised in Arizona, and moved with my family to Cortez in 2006. We love the small knit community and what it offers, especially the outdoor activities that are available within a short driving distance. I’ve always had a passion for working with small children and after raising my own two boys, I wanted to give back and offer my knowledge in early childhood education and usher these small bundles of joy into the world. I didn’t really start my studies in Early Childhood Education until 2010. Raising my boys was my priority and as they grew older, I was encouraged to pursue my teaching credentials by a fellow co-teacher. So began my journey as a college student. I now have earned my Level I and II Credentials, Director’s License and also received my AAS in Early Childhood Education in May 2016. I am married with 2 grown boys. Our oldest is Cheyne (31), and our youngest is Kyle, age 23. Family, religion, positive relationships, honesty and respect are very important to me. I look forward to spending this school year learning and growing together.
