Dave Hopcia is beginning his 34th year of teaching in Dolores. He has academic degrees in biology, wildlife biology, fisheries technology and his masters in biology. He attended Colorado State University, Adams State University and The University of Cobleskill in N.Y. Currently he teaches general biology, PCC biology and anatomy and physiology. Dave likes to spend as much time outdoors as possible as he is an avid fisherman and hiker. After so many years in the classroom Dave has learned that all students have a voice, it is just that some take longer than others to find it. His passion for biology and teaching are evident to anyone who watches him in action. Dave has many quotes and sayings that he has used through out his career, one of his favorites is “Where else would you rather be then right here right now?”
