Alesa Reed

Interim Superintendent

Alesa Reed has been working in the Dolores District for over 30 years. She and her husband have raised their children in this community, and 4 out of 6 of their children were graduates of DHS. She has worked in many positions in this district. This has given her a unique perspective on the workings of education. She has worked in transportation, substituted, taught in preschool and elementary for 24 years, and is currently working at the administration office. The Dolores District has been a place where she has grown and developed her talents as an educator and administrator. She merged into the administrative side of education in the last few years. She is currently serving as the Executive Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment. She misses the student interaction but tries to keep up with the events in each building. She has been instrumental in aligning the curriculum, Pre-12, to best educate our students. She has also been instrumental in writing and receiving grants that support school funding for students' academic and mental and physical wellness. She received a bachelor's degree from Fort Lewis College, master’s degree from Adams State College and recently completed the principal licensure program at Fort Lewis. Her career passion is teaching reading and instructional practices. Her life passion is all about family!
