Matt Walker

High School Principal

I began my educational career in Farmersville, Texas in 2006. I then made the move to suburban Dallas where I was a teacher, coach, and eventually administrator in Richardson ISD. Most recently, I continued my administrative career in the Plano ISD. My passion for education was inspired by the many fantastic teachers I had growing up, as well as my parents and grandparents who have over 115 years of experience in public education. I earned a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction, as well as an Educational Administrative Certification at Sam Houston State University, where I also had the unique opportunity to be a member of the football coaching staff. Most recently, I have served as the Principal of Dolores Elementary. I am the proud father of a large blended family of 6 children. Our oldest will graduate in 2026 and our youngest started at Teddy Bear and will graduate. My wife, Cheri, has had family in Dolores for over a century, including a great great aunt who taught at Dolores Elementary School for over thirty years. I am beyond excited to share in your family’s journey at our Dolores schools. Our staff is committed to providing the foundational academic knowledge, providing opportunities to promote critical thinking, and a myriad of skills to make our students competitive once they leave DHS. My desire for Dolores High School is a dynamic partnership with all of our families in order to support our commitment to educational excellence, innovation, and inclusive school community.
