Dear Parents,

Public schools in Colorado administer common assessments known as the Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS) and PSAT/SAT.

These common assessments measure real-world skills like problem-solving and critical thinking.

While state assessments are only one measure of student learning, having all Colorado students take this set of assessments provides parents and schools with information about how well schools are preparing students for academic success, how well programs are working, and the ability to evaluate those programs.

This link can offer more information about state assessments, school accountability, and your role in the assessment process. The role of state assessments.

Dolores Schools will be administering these assessments in April. Please feel free to access the assessment calendar on the school website or contact your child’s campus for more information.

Students can benefit from a good night’s sleep, getting to school on time, proper nourishment, and approaching these assessments with a “Can do” attitude.

We thank you for your support and Dolores Schools’ privilege in offering your child a high-quality education.

Sincerely,
Alesa Reed
